YMG Writing Competition Deadline Extended

Call for Papers for First Annual Writing Competition
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators
North American Branch
Young Members Group

COMPETITION OVERVIEW

The Young Members Group of the North America Branch (NAB) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) announces the launch of its First Annual Writing Competition (the “Competition”).  The Competition is open to all young practitioners and law students within the geographic scope of CIArb NAB, including the entirety of Mexico and the United States (except for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut).

In light of the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting uncertainties and difficulties, the Young Members Group (“YMG”) of the North America Branch (“NAB”) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (“CIArb”) has made the difficult decision to extend the deadline for submissions for its First Annual Writing Competition (the “Competition”) until July 31, 2020. The Competition seeks to create greater interest in the field of international arbitration among young practitioners, students, and researchers, while further developing the field with fresh perspectives. The winner of the Competition will: (1) receive a $2,500.00 honorarium from CIArb NAB; (2) receive complimentary registration to the CIArb NAB Tech ADR Summit & Annual Conference in October 2020; and (3) be given priority consideration for publication in the International Journal of Arbitration, Mediation and Dispute Management. Please click here for the Call for Papers for more information on the Competition.
