CIArb NAB presents webinar, “Russia – Ukraine: The Credit and Political Risk Impact”, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 @ 3:00 p.m. EDT/ 12:00 p.m. PDT.

The devastation of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and its severe blow to the world economy and to global food supplies, are well known. Less well known are some of the insurance coverages that are even now being triggered as potential claims and reserved for in the hundreds of millions, potentially billions, of dollars.

The webinar will go in depth into two of the insurance products, credit insurance and political risk insurance. In this one-hour webinar, the presenter, Mr. David Anderson (See bio below ) will explore the policies that banks and exporters buy to protect their loans and trade accounts receivable from the risk of default in Russia, Ukraine, and other countries, as well as the political risk insurance policies that lenders and investors purchase to cover risks like war, political violence, currency inconvertibility and non-transfer, and expropriation currently happening in Russia and Ukraine.

Mr. Anderson will also expound on workings of international commercial insurance, as well as the typical disputes (between policyholders and insurers) that arise and lead up to arbitration. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
