Introducing Seattle Chapter’s New Chair

PETER R. DAY

Pete completed the Diploma Course at Oxford in 2005, became a Fellow 2007, and was added to the Approved Faculty List in 2016. He is a member of the panels of the ICC, AAA/ICDR, CIETAC, WIPO, and LCIA.

Before beginning as an arbitrator, he spent 25 years in the Boeing legal department. Prior to joining Boeing, he was a prosecutor in the Bay Area, and began his legal career as a Marine Corps trial lawyer in Vietnam and Japan. As a reservist, his assignments included Assistant Legal Advisor for the U.S. European Command.

He has taught International Commercial Arbitration at the University of Washington Law School and has coached its Vis team since 2008.

He has co-sponsored workshops on cross-examination in international arbitration in Beijing, Shanghai and Vienna. In 2016, he was an instructor for the CIArb/UNCITRAL International Dispute Resolution Masterclass in Beijing.
